Express Football club has won the race to sign 26-year old former Wydad Casablanca defender and Uganda Cranes International Murushid Juuko. He joins the red eagles "Mukwano Gwabanji" on a one-year contract.
The 26-year old joins Express after parting ways with Morroco’s Wydad Casablanca, a side he joined in 2019 from Simba FC but failed to live up to the team expectations only managing to play less than 20 games.
Juuko was also wanted by StarTimes UPL champions Vipers SC and their arch-rivals KCCA FC before joining the Wankulukuku based side. This will be a great disappointment to both sides who would highly benefit from the defender's skills and experience on the continent.
It is believed Juuko’s move to the Wasswa Bbosa coached side was engineered by the new club CEO, Isaac Mwesigwa. It is expected that he will move at any time in case a new deal comes through which may not have been the case for KCCA FC and Vipers.

Juuko was most notable while playing for Tanzanian giants Simba SC where he spent five years (2014-2019) winning two league titles, the Tanzania FA Cup and Mapinduzi Cup in over 150 appearances for the club.
The 26-year-old was also a mainstay in the Cranes team playing at both the 2017 and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments but to maintain his places requires him to have a club.
Express hope to use the experience and leadership of Juuko to add to their six Uganda Premier League championships.
